Description

Larger Patterns Panel increases the size of pattern thumbnails and the height of the patterns panel in Create a Style, Create a Sim, and Create a Bot. By default, the UI displays sixteen patterns at a time (four thumbnails x four rows). The mods enables the display of twenty-seven patterns at once (three thumbnails x nine rows).

Installation

Place mod into Mods/Packages folder.

To uninstall, remove mod from the Mods/Packages folder.

Requirements

A minimum screen resolution of 1920x1080 is strongly recommended. The bottom of the panel UI element will be off-screen at screen heights lesser than 1080px.

This mod was built and tested on patch 1.67.

Kokushibo Tsugikuni x gn!reader

THIS WAS WAY TO FUN TO WRITE

You and kokushibo have very different views on how people enjoy the winter season.

Lots of people enjoy the winter season. the holiday season is coming in, Mew sports and activities people can enjoy, the first snow falling. Winter is a fun season, you believed kokushibo could understand this to.

He could not.. not even close.

Kokushibo believes the winter season is fun for demons but a suffering period for “mortals” as he says. Demons thrive with the lack of prominent sunlight to pray on the weak who grow more sickly in these times and the lack of food and fresh crops that can grow in these conditions. He lost most of his thoughts about his days when he was human during the winter itself.

Maybe you just needed to introduce him to all the fun things you could actually do during the winter. Remind him of how you assume the winter was when he was human, at least you could hope he had fun during the winter.

So the moment you could find kokushibo with no time in his hands you bundled up and dragged him outside to show him the “mortal customs” during the winter. While kokushibo did nothing to stop you, you couldn’t say he didn’t have his complaints.

“You shouldn’t be out here.” He vocalizes as you trudge outside into the snow, you could only laugh at his concern turning towards him once your far enough outside. “It’s fine, you need to understand how fun it is for us in the winter.”

He only blinks as he watches you gather snow in your hands, watching your movements in confusion. “The human body is pitiful and weak. Your life span only last so long and you’re prone to gaining illness much quicker than any other species.” Before he can finish his monologue a snowball fires hitting right at his chest.

You have a more prideful look on your face at hitting him despite his body not having even flinched on impact. He’s heard village children call this “snowball fighting” so maybe in reality you’re just trying to spare with him? If you insist, he’ll oblige with your strange customs.

You however couldn’t be happier to see he was at least trying to learn about the winter season. A smile rises on your face until it’s wiped off when a massive pile of snow crashes into you. A sigh escapes your lips as you feel somebody brush the snow off your face only to meet eye to eyes with kokushibo. A half satisfied look on his face.

“You aren’t supposed to throw that much snow..” you mutter pulling yourself out of the snow, wiping the rest off of your shoulders. “I thought we were sparing are we not?” He asks as you can only laugh. Maybe you should try something much more simple.

Marching over to another patch of snow you turn back to kokushibo with a determined smile on your face. “You’ve built a snowman before yes?” Kokushibo nods, this was much more progress compared to snowball fighting! “How about we try and build one ourselves?” You add as kokushibo turns gathering snow himself.

You take time to make the snowman, trying to make all three of the snowballs as even as possible, using the best sticks you could find only the highest quality materials to make the best snowman yet. Even using some of your own sweaters just to bring it over the edge. “Kokushibo have you finished?” You ask having not noticed the demon standing next to you.

“I’ve been waiting for you to finish.” He replies as you nearly jump hearing his voice. You shoulders tense but you turn to stare at the demon “well since you’ve seen mine I guess, how about we see yours?” Kokushibo turns to his snowman as you follow suit. You expect the bare minimum at least, the classic three snowballs but maybe rocks for eyes instead of pebbles. Or it being extra tall instead?

Kokushibo does not meet your expectations.

To your complete shock kokushibo somehow has managed to carve a replicate of himself in such a short amount of time. Everything was completely accurate down to even the smallest design on his kimono. Kokushibo seems to sense your shock and attempts to reassure you.

“Despite the short amount of time your snowman was well made based on human standards.” You can only stare at him before nodding your head, a small smile appearing on your face.

Maybe he just might enjoy something else, maybe these weren’t his cup of tea. There is always other things you can try, and it seems you already made progress with getting him to like the winter season.

Before you have time to think of something else, you’re caught off guard when you sneeze all of the sudden. Maybe it’s just allergies? It’s very common during these seasons after all, kokushibo begs to differ.

He only grabs you by the collar to bring you back inside muttering something about, “humans are so stubborn always discarding their mortality.” You started tuning him out when you realize his ramble is still going. Back to square one, again.

Maybe next week you can give it a go with something new. He’ll get it eventually! I mean, you hope he will at least..

✷ STOCK ✷ All items stocked are leftovers from the 2024 con season with a good quantity of each product available to purchase. If by chance anything sells out, I will offer preorders (depending on the item) which may ship out later to account for restocking. Anything that is marked as "Last Act" has a low quantity and will not be restocked in the future. This will be the final opportunity to purchase these items other than in person at cons if any stock is remaining after the shop closes!

✷ DAFT RALLY ✷ I know a few people expressed interest in the DP Stamp Rally prizes from Anime Expo way back when. Just to be transparent, there's only 3 available (sorry)! That includes the sticker sheet and two risograph prints along with the original packaging for the prize. While the sticker sheet will not be reprinted, there will be a listing for the risograph print I created for the rally available separately for anyone that's interested!

✷ SHIPPING: EU/UK + CANADA ✷ I will be shipping both domestically and internationally but there will be some changes this time around. Regarding shipping fees, there will be a slight increase to $25 for orders outside of the US to account for the holiday season but like domestic orders ($7), it will remain a flat fee.

While shipping is available to the EU/UK, customers will be responsible for any VAT fees on the package. I've read there is a regulation change coming that could make it impossible to send packages to the region in the future. Therefore, all EU/UK orders must be received on or by FRI, DEC 6TH to be shipped before they come into effect.

Regarding shipping to Canada, USPS has suspended all package types for delivery due to the ongoing postal strike. However, I will still be accepting Canadian orders to be held until further notice. Please keep in mind that I do not know when service will resume and it could potentially be after the holidays! Any alternative carrier would cost approximately $40 at the minimum but if a customer expresses interest, I can ship a package sooner. If you're located in Canada and are interested in a USPS alternative, please let me know in the order note and I'll contact you!

Promised you guys your Scraps and Goob headcanons since that poll won so here they are!

If someone wants to steal these, you're more than welcome to, I'd prefer getting credit if possible. If someone ends up using these for a comic or fanfic or something I'd love to see it so pls tag me or PM me I love reading my silly things :]

Scraps made Goob because she wanted a fellow Toon that would share her interests and hang out with her since the others weren’t really particularly crafty and didn’t share her interests

Goob just randomly showed up in Gardenview one day, both employees and other toons were extremely confused but the company decided to monetize on the free toon. His random appearance is also why he’s not on almost any posters

Goob was originally her height but he ended up growing a lot taller than her, Scraps is not happy about this development

His sharp teeth were also unintended, growing in randomly as he got bigger, Scraps was very confused

She originally planned to make his arms like the rest of his body, but underestimated the amount of fabric it would take to make him, so she improvised with long strips of rubber, poly beads (Makes them heavy) and red and blue felt to make his hands, which is why they look out of place (She intended to replace them, he wanted to keep them)

He couldn’t lift his arms for weeks because they were too heavy, eventually he figured it out

Dog and cat coded, you can guess who’s who

Both get zoomies cause I said so

Scraps WILL sit in boxes and circles on the floor, you cannot stop her

Scraps purrs and kneads when they’re both just hanging out instinctively

Goob is tall, Scraps is short

Goob is extremely clumsy, and this causes him to get rips pretty frequently, Scraps usually sews him up, whenever a spot starts to look too strange cause of all the sewing, she will cover it with a custom patch

Scraps is made of construction paper with her hands being Pom poms, her parts have to get replaced quite frequently, Goob helps her with this

Goob is usually very calm and non confrontational however, if someone is bullying Scraps and ONLY Scraps, he gets slightly violent and will slap whoever was talking to her rudely, this hurts quite a bit because of the poly beads in his hands. Nobody dares to say anything rude to Scraps when her brother’s nearby (Except the rare Shrimpo insult when he forgets)

He has ONLY ever slapped Shrimpo and various Gardenview employees

Scraps has mauled the employees on multiple occasions because they were mean to her brother so they try and avoid him whenever they’re together (Which is almost all the time)

The both of them get put in “time out” whenever they get aggressive towards the employees, where they’re locked in a closet for a couple hours as a punishment. This does not persuade them, it just makes Scraps mad (If one of them is stuck in time out, the other will refuse to work until they’re freed so they never stay in there long)

Goob doesn’t get treated particularly well because of his random appearance (New toon to look after while you’re getting paid minimum wage who’s clingy) so the employees don’t bother taking proper care of him. Scraps hates this and has made it her personal goal to make the employee’s lives a living hell so Goob’s considered the “obedient” one (He’s still a good boy even though the employees suck)

The two of them are basically attached at the hip, rarely ever apart for long periods of time, let alone at all

Neither of them can feel pain because they’re made of craft materials, they can feel what’s happening to them though it just doesn’t hurt

When either of them lose all their hearts in a round, they don’t die they just simply are incapable of moving anymore (Ripped off arms/legs, etc)

Phew alright I’m done, might edit this in the future if I get any better ideas to add but here they are, all the headcanons I have so far for these 2. Can you tell I think about them too much?

Hey, sorry if this is something you've answered before, but do you make patches by any chance? I'd love to showcase some of your little guys on a battle jacket I'm working on

that's a really cool and flattering idea! to be honest i've never looked into where or how to order custom patches and also don't know which of my drawings or designs would translate well into patch form. most of my traditional art is probably too texture-heavy to work, though some of my old 100 pixel faces project would maybe look cool as patches. maybe a few of my cleaner watercolor character drawings too?

i was assuming that companies that make custom patches would all require minimum orders but after a quick search there are at least some that don't, which would make it easier to order an experimental handful of designs or something. so if there was significant interest and i knew which ones people would be interested in, i could be convinced to look into ordering some custom patches, but for the time being i think i'll mostly stick to stickers since i already have the equipment for making those myself.

matsuhana working at hot topic after school takahiro clocks in wearing bubblegum pink high top converse and spends the first hour of his shift refolding all the shirts because "everyone else does it wrong. he spends the rest of his time browsing the jewelry and decides everyday to get a different piercing but never goes through with it (he forgot). he redresses the mannequin in the window in ridiculous out of date clothes and steals phallic candy from the back and constantly makes up stories about customers to issei at the register. matsukawa comes in wearing all black and smudged eyeliner and black nail polish he's the hot topic poster child but really he lets his little sister practice on him and is too lazy to take it off. he stands at the register looking bored out of his mind and quips jokes at everyone that checks out much to hiro's amusement. he kills time looking through pins and patches and trying on sunglasses and stacking funko pop towers criminally high then winking at the security cameras he's a menace and making the most of it. they only ever works shifts together be they're a "package deal" and management doesn't give a shit be they're teenagers and making minimum wage. hajime comes in to visit sometimes but tooru won't step foot inside the store he doesn't want it to "rub off" or something like that he sits on a bench outside the storefront and burns holes in the glass with his eyes and he Loves when matsuhana bring him little alien trinkets but is too proud to admit it. i just think they're built for hot topic they would fuck it up embracing the awkward emo stage with sarcasm and open arms

On the one hand, yes, the very large dead patch o' lawn is a violation, and when we raked up the dead grass weekend before last, it made it look even worse. We had the unfortunate timing of doing this right before the monthly "inspections" and got dinged. *facepalm* It's only a poke from the HOA, though, so thankfully no fines or anything.

I don't mind our HOA, they're actually pretty chill most of the time, and the only other time I got "dinged" was because the house, rightfully, needed a new coat of paint. (I was already planning and saving for it, so all it did was move the timeline up).

But also, the weather has been all over the place, and there were other pressing errands, and this weekend was the plan for putting down dirt and grass seed.

I've sent the politest, most customer-service-voiced email, also now applying my new powers of Quality Assurance to it, and all the passive aggressive, bs jargon I could into it (and asking what steps are next, if I need to fill out a form for documentation, etc). Grass seed needs at minimum 2 weeks to germinate (it can take a month or two to really get going), and I do *not* want to be hit with the same violation (which might actually come w/ a fine.)

Push comes to shove, I go out and buy some turf and slap that sucker down if they insist on a 2 week turnaround...*shrugs* Again, something I was considering anyway...

What a delightful drama I've woken up to this morning, eh? I still have thoughts I've not seen being brought up so buckle up.

People aren't upset about the summer update. That whole thing is a symptom, not the cause. What people are upset about is the state of the game itself and how much it is lacking and has been lacking since the beginning.

In the past decade or so, we have gotten more and more accustomed to being sold unfinished games, but with the promise that "don't worry we'll patch it in later updates", and then this never happened. In fact, if Hogwarts Legacy had been an excellent game with its holes patched up and they decided to grant us this free update? The reception would have been, much, much better.

And, excuse the harshness but I do wonder how capitalism-rotten your brain has to be to miss that it's about the principle rather than the update itself. We should not allow corporations to get away with always giving less and less to their clients. Ever. And I can already hear the counter argument of "you can't always get what you want!" and again, that's not my point.

The point is that corporations aim for cost effectiveness. Especially for a free update, they're not going to look at what the community wants really, they will pick the one thing that requires the least time and the least resources because they will have to pay for the time and production cost of a new feature. They know that free updates don't bring in new players. A free update is a way to do community management and get some hype, it might bring in some sales, but never enough to make profit.

Customers aren't upset about the update itself, they're experiencing now the frustration about the game they've always put on the side so far, due to this habit I've mentioned above, of expecting fixes and patches and regular updates from a game, especially one so recently released.

It only takes a quick glance at what's happening with EA in general to see a similar pattern of new content being botched or overpriced, only to receive intense backlash. And that backlash is necessary. Staying complacent and simply accepting your fate as a gamer customer is exactly what corporations are hoping for, because then they don't have to do more. They receive this feedback that it's fine, that they can just do the bare minimum and expect their customer base to eat up the new content in gratefulness. Really? Do we really want to trigger this loop of always getting less and less for something that not only has been bought but that the customers don't even own?

This isn't a Hogwarts Legacy issue, it's an industry wide trend, and we should recognize it as such.

Now, to my last point: mods. I got into modding Skyrim in 2013. Both as an avid user of mods and sometimes to make my own light tweaks for storytelling. For the most part, I'm mostly a mod user and every single time a game I played could be modded, I did so. My current Skyrim save is running on over 200 of them. I only ever play vanilla when I have no other choice. I've quickly touched on the topic yesterday by pointing out how modding requires a healthy and thriving community to work.

There are two main factors to achieve those requirements:

The company behind the game needs to support making mods for their games.

A big and interested customer base

And I guess the hidden third requirement is the coding language and how accessible it is. But I digress. My understanding of the modding community for HL is that it is very small, and therefore limited and that Portkey/Avalanche hasn't provided any resources for modders.

And so, I don't think we'll see a thriving community for HL any time soon, at least not of the comparable kind. And for me, personally, it means that the kind of gamechanging mods I would want to see simply aren't going to happen.

The kind of mods I tend to use are very immersion-focused to allow for a real roleplaying experience, that would include the ability to create new animations, to assign additional dialogues to NPCs, additional routing for NPCs within the map, to allow the player to completely ignore the main quest if they wanted to etc. And I'm afraid that HL is built in such a way that it doesn't have this flexibility even for an experienced mod creator but especially not if the modding community for the game is too small. A lot of these things would require a lot of time, a lot of code, and ton of testing and beta play.

And that doesn't mean that there can't be good mods made, but if the player base wanted to have more mods of a very high quality, we would still need to put pressure on Avalanche to tell them that if they're not ready to provide us with new content, the least they could do is make modding more accessible on their game.

Dev Log Mar 7 2025 - All Hands on Deck

Crescent Roll v1.0 is now live on Steam, but with it being something of a soft launch, there's quite a bit of work still to be done. And our first order of business is getting together a Steam Deck version so the more players can take advantage of those all-too-essential motion controls.

The Steam Deck is a Linux machine with a custom OS (aptly called SteamOS) that has a compatibility layer called Proton that lets you run most Windows games straight out of the box. However, Crescent Roll is not most Windows games. We use .Net8 and WebView2 on Windows, neither of which Proton is able to efficiently emulate straight out of the Steam library (you can do some trickery on Desktop mode to get it running, but the point of the Deck is to make it easier for non-tech people, so that ain't gonna fly) Fortunately, we've already thought on this for quite a bit. The .Net platform can be embedded in the executable itself with no need to install anything, which solves problem 1. The replacement for WebView2 is a little more tricky - we have to embed essentially an entire web browser into the game. Steam uses something called the Chromium Embedded Framework, or CEF, to show the popover that you see in games, as well as their storefront and a bunch of other little widgets. It's essentially a self-bundled customized Chrome instance that you can stick in pretty much anything. That would be perfect, but unfortunately for us, after searching for days, it doesn't seem to be exposed anywhere in the Steam runtime, so we can't piggyback off of that. Unfortunate. Embedding it ourselves is also going to add a whopping 1GB to our 100MB install, so uh, perhaps not. So, alternatively, there's WebKit. It's to Safari what CEF is to Chrome. Just the bare minimum of a web browser that you can slap into anything. SteamOS doesn't have it pre-bundled, but it's around 100MB-ish, so you know - better than CEF. So, there we go. Except, CEF expected you to just drag-and-drop libcef.so into your project, and WebKit wants to be installed separately. Which you can't really do on the Steam Deck. So, what I've been doing for the past week is chopping up and patching pieces of the WebKit2GTK project to get it running on the Deck under our sub-directory. Which has not been remotely fun, and will probably get its own write-up here to help out anybody else doing the same thing. But...

It works. Well, as of writing this, it's mostly works. The audio isn't playing, and we're locked at 20FPS display even though the game runs at full speed and is only using 10% of the CPU, but it's actually entirely playable. We were hoping to start releasing a weekly update every Monday starting next week. Fingers crossed we'll be able to iron those last two issues out for it. Although this is big enough that if we're close, we might just wait for Tuesday to ship out both at once. Fortunately, nobody seems to be knocking down our door for this, so we've got a little bit of leeway.

Imagine a regular old day at work, you're just stocking a shelf and being paid next to nothing because the minimum wage doesn't mean anything to the actual realities of people's lives. And out of the corner you see a tall and long guy just grab something and shove it in his pocket.

You've had your fair deal of people who steal, but you don't get paid enough to care. Especially not for someone who's just stealing some food, not even the expensive stuff just some cans. So you look away and he does too. But he notices what you don't do, you don't tell anyone. Hobie is smart enough to know the blind spots of the cameras by now, he's done this too often and even then the images are so blurry he'd be barely recognisable.

But he keeps coming back to your workplace and as it goes along one day he whispers to you why you keep letting you let him get away with this stuff. The both of you avoid looking at each other, accomplices without meaning to be. You only tell him it's unfair people are starving, and it's not like you're here to hold anyone accountable with the numbers you see on your paychecks. You don't think of yourself as judgemental, people steal out of necessity. Of course there are technical limits where you do need to intervene or you boss will get mad. But food? Who cares. So many of these things end up in the container outside anyways.

And eventually somehow, you become friends. You meet him outside of work and for once see him outside of very plain clothes which have been changed for something a bit more natural to him. Patched up pants, a crop top, a leather jacket, long boots and a bright smile. You get to actually stare him in the face and can't help but notice how...pretty he is. Did he always have pretty eyes? Does he only smile at you like this or is that just a casual thing? Does h....

And that's how you ended up with a work crush on one of your "loyal customers".

More than anything else, fish stores are looking for these qualities:

Taking initiative. It's better to do something and do it wrong, than it is to not do anything. In the fish keeping hobby, a lot more can go wrong if you do nothing because you're afraid of accidents.

Information sponging. If you find aquariums and fish and all that stuff extremely interesting (more than that, if you're autistic or otherwise neurodivergent about aquariums or marine/aquatic life), you're probably able to absorb and retain MUCH more information related to the hobby than other people. You'll be able to relay that information to others much more easily as well. Even if you don't know very much, but you're incredibly willing to learn, they LOVE that. Probably don't mention autism on the resume though. That's not me being internally ableist, that's me trying to say there are legal loopholes you shouldn't risk until your position is safe.

Physical strength, sometimes. Occasionally, part of the job may include carrying water here and there. Buckets, jugs, whatever. Usually it's not more than 5 gallons at a time, but you might have to move a lot of water overall. 5 gallons of water is roughly 40lbs. If you're incapable of carrying at least 15lbs by yourself, be sure to clarify that. They don't usually mind if you can't, as long as they have someone who can, or a cart to load things on.

Pattern recognition. Being able to recognize different species of fish, species of coral, species of plants, genders of fish etc. You should be able to subvert the expectation that the average person won't know the minimum care requirements. Trust me, I meet a lot of people working here, and it's SHOCKING when someone knows the comfortable minimums for care.

Fearlessness, creative thinking & problem solving. Being able to think quickly and come up with unique (but good!) solutions to problems in the hobby, with maintenance, or the technical/mechanical side of things is important. You might have to emergency-DIY a lid for a tank with a fish that insists on jumping to their death, or you might have to quickly patch a leak on something. You might have to stick your hands into dirty, gross filter shit and not be scared of it. Be prepared to smell things you don't like, and be even more prepared to see beautiful and cute fish die, especially at the hands of irresponsible owners, BUT ALSO at the store in the display tanks! It happens often, and sometimes there's nothing you can do.

Being really, REALLY prepared to deal with incredibly ornery people that don't like being told what to do. It's classic retail. People will argue with you, people will bring their young children who scream and beg for a fish, so the parents can't say no without causing a scene (and they know it). People won't understand why things are different now compared to 20 years ago when they "just had a fish in a bowl and it was fine", and people will walk out on you to go to Petco or Petsmart instead, leaving a bad review online because they didn't want to wait for their nitrifying bacteria to establish before adding the fish they're so desperately impatient for. It's bad, and it gets worse, and people can be inexperienced to SUCH a ridiculous degree that you'd think they're just flat out stupid. Patience is incredibly important. If you have previous experience in ANY amount of customer service & working a register, they'll appreciate that a lot.

Finally, Your own experience in the hobby, fish or not. Fish stores like applicants that have their own aquariums at home, even if they're small and seemingly insignificant. You might think that a tiny little snail/shrimp aquarium isn't impressive, but it's the opposite! I'm always, always impressed to hear someone talk about their nano/pico tank being established and thriving, because those tanks are actually the hardest to maintain long-term. They're much more work and dedication. Fish stores also appreciate any experience with non-aquatic exotics. If you have reptiles, birds, or anything other than a dog or cat, and you can confidently say you've had them thriving for a long time, they'll hear that someone understands the needs of a more complicated type of pet, and is capable of learning or knowing more.

It should also be important to scope out the place before applying! Shop around, interact with your potential coworkers, get a feel for their vibes and see if you'd get along with them well enough in a work environment. If they like you before you even apply, you've got better chances! Even if you have to fake it, for the most part.

I will say, I cheated the system. They hired me because they only had one woman on staff and I, conveniently, am a woman with extensive foodservice experience and neon green hair. They didn't even interview me. They called me 2 weeks later asking when I can start just because I'm a woman with colorful hair. So.

Also... unethical life hack, it's okay to lie a little on your resume. Embellish your life experiences and emphasize how much you're willing to learn about the things you don't know.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

Some regions may allow large retailers like Petsmart and Petco (though not limited to these two) to have non-compete clauses in their employment agreement. What this means is, if you signed a contract with them, you may not be legally allowed to work for any businesses that compete with them, at least during your employment.

It's no longer legal for employers to enforce this on their employees POST-employment in the United States as of April 2024, but in other countries this might not be the case; meaning that outside the USA, if you choose to sign a non-compete clause to be employed at Petsmart (or some other large pet retailer), it may be several years post-employment before you're legally allowed to work for any businesses that financially compete with your previous employer.

But in the USA for example, if you have a job with Petco, you may not be allowed to simultaneously have a job at a local fish store due to a non-compete clause in your employment contract. Essentially, don't plan on being part-time with Petco and part-time with a local business. It probably isn't going to work out.
